Green eFact was launched on September 19, 2023 with the aim of offering more and better information - and above all verified and validated - on the topics of Sustainability, Climate Change and Energy. We feel that there is an increasing need for verified information, obtained from reliable, official and scientifically valid sources on a set of topics where misinformation, myths and polarisation are beginning to proliferate. We wanted to launch a completely independent verification publication 100% dedicated to these topics that we consider to be increasingly central. We will always be on the side of the truth and, at the same time, offer readers a set of informative tools - this is where the literacy component we call 'Decoder' comes in - that allows them to be more informed and, above all, qualified to deconstruct myths and untruths. This purpose of public service is, for us, fundamental and is in our DNA - the two founders were journalists for many years. The newsroom is led by journalist Miguel Judas, with extensive experience in journalism and climate journalism, and the writing team is made up of a group of journalists passionate about Sustainability, Climate Change and Energy issues. There are, at the moment, 9 journalists who regularly produce fact-checks and decoders. In addition to journalistic production - fact-checks and decoders - we have already held conferences on these topics and, more recently, we carried out a series of training actions in climate journalism for journalists from Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau, in partnership with the French organization CFI , with the aim of training those professionals to produce articles with quality and relevance for the public, in the area of the Environment. Also within the scope of the Green eFact project, we have a series of podcasts, available to readers on our website, and we developed, in partnership with public television RTP, the program 'Impacto Verde' which airs weekly on the RTP3 channel - this is of the television version of the Green eFact project, with the same objective as always: fighting for the truth, verifying facts, offering citizens valid information that helps them make choices - and change behavior - in an informed way.In what remains of 2024 and in 2025, we want to strengthen scientific partnerships - we are currently linked to WWF Portugal and Nova SBE university -; increase the production of fact-checks by strengthening the editorial team (we are applying for several funds with this objective); maintain our television presence on RTP; increase the audience on social networks, through more content and more campaigns, as information today passes a lot through these digital media.
