“GeoFacts” was established in 2024 by Mariam Tsitsikashvili, a member of the editorial board of the first Georgian fact-checking platform "FactCheck Georgia" (FactCheck.ge) for years. Its editorial board members have many years of experience in both journalism and specifically in fact-checking. “GeoFacts” is modelled on popular and successful international analogues (www.politfact.com, www.maldita.es) and was established with the aim of providing society with verified, fact-based information and promoting critical thinking and media literacy by fact-checking statements made by politicians and debunking online hoaxes in Georgian and Russian languages.
