- If the claim is verifiable, we investigate it and publish the fact-check. If the reader leaves his or her contact information, we send them the published article.
- If the claim cannot be evaluated in accordance with our methodology or it is unclear we explain this to the reader, provided they left their contact information.
- If the claim cannot be evaluated, but the topic is of public importance and interesting for us, we often write an in-depth analysis rather than a fact check.
- In cases when the topic is relevant but not fact-checkable (for example, a reader asked us about information rather than an investigation), we try to provide it to them in a private correspondence.

We always contact them via an email address that is publicly available and related to their function, and in those cases when it is unavoidable to contact them via a private email, we ask for permission to publish their answer.
Therefore, we do not have the practice of anonymizing sources and their data, given that the data is already publicly available (e.g. the email address of a political party or political actor is available on the website of a political party or institution, etc).
In practice, we encountered cases where we were asked to speak off the record, and we did not use statements or data from those sources in our work. If one of our sources expresses a desire to have their data anonymized, we would do so.
*Please provide an example, if one exists, of how your fact-checking operation approached such a case.
Assessors will also review a random sample of fact-checks to check for compliance.

Contact is made via email, with a request for clarification of the statement. If we do not receive a response from the subject with an explanation of the statement, then we do not deal with that topic due to the fact that we cannot know for sure what they were referring to.
In those cases when we receive a response with an explanation of the statement, the editorial board decides, in accordance with the methodology, whether it is possible to proceed with the topic. If we decide to assess that statement, we will state the answer of the subject whose statement we are evaluating in the article.
We also have a practice of contacting the political actors and institutions whose pre-election and post-election promises we follow, in order to get complete information about the given promises. If we receive their answers, we list those answers in the article in which we write about the progress of the pre-election or post-election promise.
