In addition to daily activities focused on fact-checking of the statements of political actors, Istinomjer monitors the implementation of pre-election promises at several levels in BiH. We are currently monitoring 16 local self-governments, i.e. the implementation of more than 1,000 pre-election promises of the mayors of 16 municipalities and cities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the mandate 2018 - 2022, we monitored the fulfillment of the pre-election promises of the parties that formed the Council of Ministers of BiH (189 promises), then the parties that formed the Government of the Republika Srpska (149 promises) and the parties that formed the Government of Sarajevo Canton (since three governments were formed during the mandate, we followed the promises of all three governments - a total of 917 promises).

Given that the General Elections were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina in October 2022, we still do not fully know whose work we will follow during the 2022 - 2026 mandate.

What is certain is the Government of Republika Srpska and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which have already been formed, while we will follow the developments for other governments as well - such as the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Sarajevo Canton, whose work we will most likely monitor if and when they are formed.

We monitor pre-election promises in such a way that after the first 100 days of work we present the results of the work of the government or the mayor for that period, and then after the first, second, third and fourth year we present the results of the work for the previous period. If the mayor of a municipality or city resigns earlier, or a new government is formed, we conclude the pre-election promises that we follow and present a report for the period in which the mayor or the government worked.

I. ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY In order to apply to the EFCSN, your fact-checking operation must first meet the criteria outlined in Chapter 5.2 of the Code.

3.3.A. Correct every known mistake promptly with a correction note in the same publication in which the error was made; if the error is only typographical, grammatical or stylistic, a correction note is not needed.
